This Privacy Policy explains how Budgie Finance ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Budgie Finance mobile application (the "App").

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (password is handled by our authentication provider and is not stored by us in plain text).
Financial information you enter. We store information you add in the App, such as transactions, amounts, dates, categories, accounts/cards, budgets, goals, and related notes.
Uploaded files. If you use Import Statement, you may upload bank or card statements (for example PDF or image files). Those files are sent to our servers so we can extract transaction details for you to review and save.
Device / app data. We may store app preferences and local copies of your data on your device (including offline storage) so the App works reliably.

When you import a statement, the file is processed on our backend. We use Google Gemini (a third-party AI service) to help read the statement and extract transaction details.
That means statement contents you upload may be transmitted to Google for processing on our behalf, solely to provide this feature. Please avoid uploading documents you do not want processed this way.

Your data may be stored on your device and on our cloud providers' servers. We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate for an app like ours (including encrypted transport via HTTPS and provider security controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the App. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or de-identify associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Budgie Finance is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you use the App from outside the country where our providers operate, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where those providers maintain servers.
